In the first place, Venables has not even been charged with any
offence, we have contradictory reports and for all we know he might be
entirely innocent.

In the second place, if he has been using so-called child porn, ie
simply looking at pictures, that's something I can live with. Far
better he gets his kicks looking at pictures of kids than doing things
he didn't ought to with real ones. Perhaps it could be arranged for
him to be given special accommodation on a Scottish Island - Gruniard
perhaps - where he can look at pornographic pictures to his heart's
content for the rest of his life.

With regard to continuing anonymity.  While many people would gladly
see him dead, if anyone takes steps towards that it may well make him
into a folk hero but will have other consequences which will be less
desirable.

Does anyone in this group really want to see some poor sap throw away
his life for the likes of Jon Venables?
